NC State Dining to host Food Allergy Symposium

NC State Dining will host the Sixth Annual Food Allergy Symposium for Industry (FASI), presented by MenuTrinfo® March 11-12, 2025 at Talley Student Union on the NC State campus.

FASI gives food service operators and manufacturers a forum to listen to experts, ask questions, discuss best practices and discover cutting-edge solutions. This year’s conference will feature pioneering sessions on the most pressing and advanced topics in food allergy management.

“NC State is a collegiate leader in serving students with allergies, and we are proud of what we do,” said Lauren Smith, director of nutrition and wellness at NC State. “By hosting this conference, we are inviting leaders in the industry to learn about our program. It is a wonderful opportunity to highlight our beautiful spaces and talented culinary team while furthering our commitment to keeping guests with food allergies safe.”

Hosting FASI this year is timely as we have recently committed to training all of our staff in Allertrain, the accredited allergen training program offered through MenuTrinfo. Many of them have recently completed the training, so our staff have a heightened awareness about food allergies. They are eager to demonstrate their skills and learn more about best practices in the industry.

The 2025 Food Allergy Symposium will feature a dynamic lineup of sessions covering essential topics, including:

2. Establishing Stock Epinephrine Programs: Best practices for ensuring rapid response to food allergy emergencies.

5. Building Trust with Third-Party Certifications: The importance of third-party certification programs in assuring allergen safety.

Participants will enjoy live chef demonstrations featuring delicious, allergy-friendly recipes, and explore the vendor expo, showcasing the latest products and solutions in the industry.
