NC State Dining Hosts “Dip into March Madness” to Promote Healthy Game Day Dips
With March Madness approaching fast, Emilio Balbuena, an undergraduate Dining Diplomat leader, needed a creative idea for his April cooking demonstration module. As a member of the Dining Diplomat program, he receives class credit by working with NC State Dining to gain experience in a variety of food service environments, ranging from behind-the-scenes nutritional accounting to industrial kitchen projects and cooking demos. As an avid sports fan, Emilio decided to take an athletic approach to his cooking demo and came up with “Dip into March Madness”.

With so many stressors and commitments of college life, such as piling homework, all-nighter study sessions, group projects, exercising regularly, and having a social life, it can be very difficult for students with dietary restrictions to comfortably navigate a college campus safely. Safe Eats, the food allergy club at NC State, is working to change that.
NC State Dining Hosts Annual Farm Feast to Promote Locally-Grown Food
On April 12, 2018, NC State Dining hosted its annual Farm Feast, an outdoor dinner served at Fountain Dining Hall. The meal celebrated NC State’s agricultural roots by featuring local foods from throughout North Carolina.
