Allergen Labeling Update

A new federal law was put into effect on Jan. 1, declaring sesame as the 9th major food allergen in the United States. NC State Dining labels the sesame allergen, along with all of the top allergens, on our menu cards, OnCampus app, and menu website. Items containing sesame are labeled with our sesame icon (shown below). If an item does not contain sesame, but has been processed in a facility with sesame, we will indicate that in the ingredient list for the menu item. A complete list of ingredients for all menu items can be found on our menu website, OnCampus App, and the nutrition kiosks in each dining hall.*
Chick-fil-A has had a recent change in their ingredients, and many of their breads now contain sesame. Please consult the Chick-fil-A website for more information.

*NC State Dining labels ingredients and allergens as provided by the manufacturer. The possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice also exists.
