NC State Dining announces operational changes for the 2024 -2025 academic year

August is approaching, and NC State Dining has an exciting lineup of changes and improvements to its program for the new year.

Caribou Coffee Expands to Nelson Hall and Terry Center

Two Port City Java cafes – one serving the northwest corner of main campus and the other, the College of VetMed – are being converted to proudly serving Caribou cafes. In addition, the cafes will be renamed to reflect the colleges represented in their buildings: The Exchange and Creature Comforts, respectively.

“The names were chosen in collaboration with the colleges, “ said Shawn Hoch. “The Exchange is a play on words for the stock market and an exchange of ideas and thought, which is perfect for the Poole College of Management. We chose Creature Comforts for the College of Vet Med due to its proximity to the small animal vet clinic. We look forward to unveiling these new brands in August.”The Nelson Hall location is closed and will reopen as The Exchange on August 19. The Terry Center location will undergo changes in early August, with minimal disruption to service.

One Earth World Cuisine to Extend Hours

Campus diners who love the convenience and variety at One Earth in Talley Student Union will be pleased to learn that this popular location will now be open for dinner Sunday through Thursday. Students on a Flex plan can use their one daily takeout meal, and block plan holders can use a block meal. One Earth also accepts Dining Dollars, All Campus, and major credit cards.

Los Lobos adds Global Flavors

This popular spot in the Talley Pavilions is known for its Mexican flavors, but diners will experience an expanded menu featuring a rotating selection of Korean, Indian, and other world dishes. Never had a Korean corn dog? Stop by this fall and try one.

University Towers joins NC State Dining Portfolio

It’s official. University Towers Dining Hall is now a part of the NC State Dining portfolio, so we’re giving the space a fresh look and some new equipment. It will be open each week from Sunday dinner to Friday lunch. Students on a meal plan are eligible to dine here; the meal plan is the only payment accepted.

Other Improvements

  • Talley Market will have expanded grab-and-go options for students needing a quick meal; more than double the options available in the 2023-2024 academic year.
  • Sushi with Gusto will expand options in the Talley Pavilion, and diners can order custom rolls.
  • The Atrium Food Court will now offer walk-up ordering (in addition to locker pick up) or Delirious, Makus, Union 51 Burgers, Brickyard Pizza/Pasta and toasted sandwiches.

“Our culinary and management teams are working hard to provide a great dining and guest experience this fall, with new options as well as tried and true favorites,” said Hoch. “We are also planning several events to engage our students and provide community around food.
