NC State Dining Update on COVID-19 Impacts to Service

As NC State prepares to accommodate students returning to campus as early as Sunday, March 15, we recognize that our students and campus community have questions regarding on-campus dining operations.

While the situation is changing daily, our plan is as follows:

Ensure campus dining locations are open and available. We will ensure proper support levels in dining for students and the entire campus community. For locations and hours of operation, visit dining.ncsu.edu or consult the On Campus App, downloadable to your mobile device.

Ensure that the highest level of care is taken to minimize the risk of infection. Every day we practice the highest standards for foodservice safety and sanitation, including the use of EPA-approved products. We are enhancing these practices to include:

  • cleaning high-touch areas more frequently to protect our customers and staff.
  • reducing the risk of cross-contamination in dining halls by limiting self-service, such as serving our guests and providing more preportioned items.
  • suspending our re-usable cup program in campus coffee shops.
  • adding additional hand sanitizer points where possible to supplement handwashing.

Encourage social distancing. When visiting our dining locations, we ask for your support in creating and maintaining a safe environment that respects all guests and their respective vulnerability to the COVID-19 virus. We encourage you to wash your hands first (or use a hand sanitizing station), maintain distance between others, touch as few surfaces as you can and select a seat within an arm’s length of others.

We are working closely with university leadership and campus partners to make additional plans and encourage you to visit ncsu.edu/coronavirus regularly for updates.
